Blue Heron Day Celebration: Breakfast with the Birds

CVNPA, CVNP, and Old Trail School join to celebrate an important valley resident: the great blue heron.
Back by popular demand, this third annual event kicks off with an optional morning sunrise hike to the heronry, then a tasty pancake breakfast. Afterward, visit fun activity stations to learn about herons and their habitat through stories and crafts. Visit the Bath Road heronry by taking a ranger-led hike or taking a complimentary shuttle. The event highlights the important mission we share to protect and preserve CVNP while educating future generations about environmental and habitat protection.
New this year!
Blue Heron Day will kick off with an Early Riser's Heronry Hike at 8:00 a.m! Meet at Old Trail School, head to the heronry and then come back for a tasty pancake breakfast.
Fee: $6 adults, $4 children ages 6 - 12 in advance ($8 adults, $6 children at the door). Children ages 5 and under are free. Old Trail School, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
(breakfast served until noon).
