CVNPA Partners with Local Organizations to offer Exceptional Summer Camps
Jun. 11, 2010
Peninsula, OH- This summer, Cuyahoga Valley National Park Association (CVNPA) is partnering with local organizations to create unique camp experiences for area youth in Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP). Young Audiences Arts for Learning is a non-profit organization whose goal is to make the arts an essential part of a young person’s education. By bringing youth together with visual artists as well as a local ensemble of percussionists from HeartBEAT Afrika, campers at Multi-media Arts Camp will expand their skills, knowledge and creativity.
Through this partnership with Young Audiences and HeartBEAT Afrika, Multi-media Arts Camp, a residential camp, offered July 11-16, will allow campers to create ceramic masterpieces under the direction of Augusto Bordelois; explore the relationship of light and photography by creating their own pinhole camera in an exciting workshop with Donald Black; compose and perform a music and movement piece using trashcans, buckets, African drums and rhythms played by feet, body and hands with Olu Manns, currently a member of the touring company of the Broadway show STOMP. This camp will infuse creative expression in campers while in CVNP.
